This morning I decided to shoot a couple of long distance shots. I picked out a random spot in the yard to make the shots. (unknown distance)
The first shot hit a little low but it was still in the marked kill zone. When I made the first shot I was aware of the shaft position in relation to my target.

Since the first shot hit a little low I adjusted the plane of the arrow some to make my shot hit a little higher. I was not aware of where the point of the arrow was pointing. I don't have a "point on".Split vision works very well on follow up shots. I stepped off how far from the target I was and it was 56 paces.

Good shooting everyone.

Cahaba offers some good points here. I shoot with (I think!) split vision; I judge the distance, but put no numerical yardage to it... aim (align) with the shaft (mostly the back half or so) to ensure my eye is directly over the arrow, and let my instinct adjust the elevation.
I do not see the point at all-if I look at it, it messes up my shot; and I don't aim at a secondary point.
Aim at what you want to hit, be aware of the arrow's alignment, and your instinct will adjust for the shot.
