Sometimes I practice each step of my shot by consciously thinking the shot sequence through. Sorta like this:
Stance, check
grip on bow, check
finger hook on string, check
deep breath, exhale
raise bow arm and begin rotational draw, check
breathe in and hold (as I hit anchor)
expand, expand, pull through, relax fingers
hold bow arm momentarily (follow through) while my string hand touches second anchor (shoulder)
Sometimes I practice just one in the sequence at a time.
I don't think of these things at all while stumping or hunting though.
Helps me develop a confident shot.
