Thank you Joel Turner
« on: January 25, 2015, 08:39:00 PM »
I finally got the courage to take Joel Turner up on his offer to help me with my target panic. I must have talked to him for about a hour. My issue was not coming to full draw. Joel asked me to put a clicker on my bow. I do have Joel's video iron mind, wich I have watched several times.
It has been two weeks since I talked to Joel.He walked me thru what I needed to work on and how. I just wanted to give a big thank you to Joel for helping me and anybody that takes him up on his offer. I am a work in progress right now, that is improving everyday.   :campfire:  Thank you Joel

Glad you have something positive working for you! I have never had target panic, but have a very good friend who loves traditional archery, but gave up the sticks because of the target panic. It was horrible to watch him go thru what he went thru, and very sad because he really loves traditional archery!

Good luck to you!

Joel is a good guy and always happy to talk about target panic. He has several methods that might help you through it. It sure worked for me.

Joel helped me as well. After shooting and improving in a perfectly linear fashion for 7 years everything took a serious dive about 1 1/2 years ago. I was completely unable to come to full draw while looking at a target, releasing at <25".  I was getting frustrated and thoughts about giving up the stick were beginning to boil in the back of my mind. Thanks to Joel I overcame my target panic and was able to get back to improving and enjoying every shot I took.  Now I can take on the many other challenges that mastering this sport has to offer with confidence.

Target panic is a curse suffered by many at one time or another. Joel's method helped me I combined it with a lot of blind bale.

Joel is the man for sure. He helped me get through target panic. I still remember the first time he called on my cell phone. We were talking through things and he told me to get my bow and go outside to the target range. He told me to put my cell phone in my shirt pocket and put him on speaker so he could coach me through the shot. It was like having him there standing right next to me.

Joel is an excellent teacher!  His system is bar none the ONE that has helped me the most.  Awesome to see he is still coaching, I hope to get him back to Michigan for another clinic.

I had similar experiences, when I talked to him th exist time I had my phone on speaker, he explained what to do and I was able to shoot an arrow without the premature release.

I had trouble distorting my sight picture as I pulled the feather to my nose. I think I had the feather too far forward and was over drawing. Working on it again now with the feather closer to the rear. Off to a good start. Joel really is a life savor when it comes to this.
