Deft on wood arrows
« on: January 27, 2007, 11:40:00 PM »
Hey guys,

I usually use Minwax Polycrylic on my wood arrows. But I bought me a can of Deft Gloss Lacquer wood finish today, to dip some arrows with.

Have any of you tried it? And what glue does good with it? Duco?

Any other tips with the Deft?

Thanks!

Have used it before and it does OK. Dries fast and is quite durable. Have to use Duco to glue the feathers if I remember.

I like Deft satin and Duco.
If it's in your way, move it.

I have been using it for a long time. Thin it with lacquer thinner 3:1 so it runs easily down the shaft. Thin coats are better. As the others have said, use Duco for the fletching.
God bless,

Jose
