You ever have those days that you feel are just wasted time , practicing soo hard on sequence , form and follow thru , everyafter noon , ive been away from trad for a while and getting back to it bout a month ago so i started back over at 5 yrds for a week then back to 10 for a week n so on . But shootin is getting fustrating , it seems one round is tight then the next is all over the place then tight again , then back all over the place , it feels like im doing all the same but gues not yet , i was almost snap shooting  but am working on slowing it down  but its still any given round , ShadowHunter has been helping me alot thru text and talking and me videoing my shots for him to pick apart , a big thsnks to Shadow for all your help bro , its just so nerve wrecking and i know itll all be worth it in the end just wish i could see the light but itll get there.  sorry guys just venting just trying to build your form is tough my hats off to you guys that have down, and sorry bout the punctuation 's

Video yourself shooting and post it on the "form" forum.  Arne Moe, McDave, and Terry will get you on the right track.

We've all been there man. I find when I start picking apart my form in my mind it dramatically effects my shooting and I have to walk away. I would read archery insights by jay kid well. Best book I've ever read and he explains the shot process very well. After that book my practice sessions became more fluid and my accuracy improved so much it was insane, not to mention his book cured my target panic. Guys may find that hard to believe but it's true. Good luck with your shooting. You will get there. Consistency =SUCCESS

Try just one arrow. It makes you concentrate as it is the only shot you get. Also you get a little break between shoots.

I had the same frustration after an injury forced a layoff.  Thought I'd never get it right, but one day it fell into place.  Just keep it and it will work out.

Like whittler said one arrow at a time. Don't shoot for groups. You could be wearing down shoot after many rounds of not shooting for awhile. Just take your time between shots.  Plus on the good side you bust another arrow or Robin hood one if you shoot one then retrieve it. So you'll save on arrows.

Thanks guys my biggest problem i think is holding at draw its not the weight but more that i focus on holding then inturn i lose focus on my shot , i aim as im drawing so holding seems to break down my shot but i kno i need to hold n consentrate  , and at same time im trying to form a better anchor in the midst of all this , i think i just need to slow my roll n work on one thing at a time but i will try to post some video on here to get some more feedback

Work on your draw sequence, sometimes just focus on only one aspect and put the rest on auto pilot, keep practicing all aspects of your draw sequence and they will start to come together and you will find better accuracy!

I am on the same journey!  it gets better! dont give up!
shooting targets is not everything. lots of practice can be done without even aiming or trying to hit a spot.

"at same time im trying to form a better anchor in the midst of all this"
IMO this will screw you up big time. Get your anchor down on the blank bale.

I think we have all been there in some form or fashion. I've wanted to quit a time or two myself.  Hang in there, follow the great advice you'll get here and things will improve.

It's a long process. I'd suggest working on one ting at a time. Set a measure for success for the one thing you're working on and move on the next thing when you achieve that success.

When I start shooting all over the place, I usually find that my release is sloppy. When my release gets sloppy, I usually find that my back tension is incorrect. When I improve the back tension things tend to smooth out again.

As said we've all been there, I was there a month ago and just put the bow down and didn't shoot for 30 days. Last week picked it back up said I was going to try a deep hook on the string and see what happens. All is good now, and I only shoot 5 arrows 3 days a week, now I'm not wearing myself out. My 5 arrows I shoot are off my roof at 18-20 yards with my hunting broadheads. Ready for the season to begin in 40 days.
Odds are with the prepared..

I would encourage you to quit that.  Pre-aiming only serves to add anticipation anxiety.  I'd suggest aiming only after reaching full draw and just before expansion.

Really good snap-shooters aim throughout their draw and shoot at anchor.  IMO, most of us can't pull that off.

Just about every time I shoot I start to get sloppy. I live on a farm so my targets are hay bales. When I shoot a group that isn't my best I get my arrows and shoot a few feet away with my eyes closed. To re remember what it should feel like. 5-10 shots later I'm shooting better. I've got to do this all the time. Really helps me anyway
