Question for you fixed crawl guys... well kinda

I don't shoot a fixed crawl but my aiming style is similar. I shoot 3 under an anchor middle finger in corner of mouth. At about 22 yds I put point right on vitals at 25 top of back and anything under 22 yds right on belly of deer target. I shoot very accurately this way and i am happy with my shooting. However if i am out practicing and i start shooting at 30 and longer i have to hold very high above point on. If i move out to around 35 i have to hold so high that my hand and sight window is covering the whole target. I don't plan on hunting at these ranges but i would like to be able to practice  at these ranges. Do any of you guys run into this problem? If so what is your solution?

Easiest thing to do is drop your anchor one finger so first finger is in corner of mouth. It's very natural and you shouldn't have to adjust much but I'd practice in your backyard first.

when I shot fixed crawl, my point on was very similar to what you describe. If you don't care for RD's approach, at 35-40 yds you're likely near the range where you could simply go back to 3U touching the nock and still be point on or at least able to hold just over/under the vitals.

Robert, answered in the PM. I am suggesting two anchor points, one for close shots which you are doing now and one for long shots, the lower one.

Olddogrib, I'm sorry for misinterpreting your post but I'm not quite sure what you mean. I do shoot 3u. Rd is suggesting 2 anchor points. Middle finger for short shots and index for longer.

Sorry guys I'm shooting 3u touching the nock. Not fixed crawl.  I haven't seen the need to shoot the fixed crawl because with my normal anchor (mf in corner of mouth) i get manageable short range gaps. My concern is longer shots with my hunting bow i can't see what I'm trying to hit because the stacking gap is so large.

Olddogrib i think i understand after thinking about it for a while. So you mean to shoot a fixed crawl then move my fingers back up to the nock for longer shots while keeping anchor the same.

My bad, from the title I thought you're shooting a FC now and wanted to stay PO at longer yardages.  You're lucky to have a PO that close.  I shoot 2U(another story), middle finger in corner of mouth and my gap at 25 yds is still about 18".
