The bullfrog has migrated into Washington state in huge numbers and are destroying the native leopard frogs. Local biologists have pretty much given up trying to save the native species.
There are numerous lakes in central Washington near the Columbia river where these frogs thrive.
In July, we harvested 176 in two nites and on this outing of two nites, we did almost as well. Many were 12-18" long and over a pound each.
A few years ago, there was a limit of 10, now there is no limit.
I grew up in Tennessee and hunted frogs regularly, and I believe many Washingtonians turn up their noses at eating frogs...which is just fine with me. It just leaves more frogs for us ole country boys.
