60# is more than enough bow, with 9-10 gr per lb. arrow weight.  Sharp broadheads are a must.  I recommend the cut on impact kind.  Magnus, STOS, Ribtek,...  The place to hit them is low in the chest right were the front leg joins.  Sligthly behind the leg is OK.  DO NOT shoot them like a deer or you will be tracking hog for miles.  The lungs are small by comparison to a similar sized deer.  A hog can go forever on one lung.  There have been many pics posted in the PowWow and this thread.  Broadside is best.  They won't go far if you hit them right.

thanks a lot guys - yeah a few people i know went down to florida to hunt them and they took traditional gear - now these are older guys that are really good and have been hunting with trad gear for more than 30 years - it took 8 arrows to take it down, all 3 of them shot at it while it was running around - i dont want that to happen because even though i like to hunt i dont like to see animals suffer - thanks again for the help and if you have any suggestions on how to hunt them please let me know - remember this is my first time and i wont be going with a guide, just a friend of mine

thanks again,

adam

Adam, I'd like to know more about hogs in Vinton county.  I'll be visiting in Ohio this summer.  Are they on public land?
