Spot & Stalk Black Bears ???
« on: December 11, 2008, 04:45:00 PM »
I would appreciate your help if anyone has some info on areas I could do a self-guided spot & stalk Black Bear hunt in the spring. I was considering Wyoming,Montana or Colorado.
Any good areas to try and tips on non-resident tags in these states would be great.
Thanks,
Mike

Nix Wyoming and consider Idaho.  Way more black bears here and no quotas on females.  I used to live in western Wyoming and saw 4 or 5 in 6 years of hard hunting.  You can see that many in central Idaho in a day.

Every unit in central Idaho is either mostly or 100% public land.  That is the great thing about Idaho, lots of access.  There is some extremely rugged stuff though.  PM me and I'll give you some good ideas on some areas with lots of bears.
