Has been hunting animals with bow and live catching since the 70’s. He and his father before him have been making guns and involved in eradication of feral animals for longer than any other in the country. Having only just caught up with him I know his shoulder gives him grief and his fingers are set in a permanent string pulling position from rheumatism so although he still uses his bow most of his eradication work is done on foot with gun. Chopper access, which he dislikes, as its too brief, is $4-500/hr so 4x4 and foot are more appropriate. He is currently based in Mareeba in Far North Queensland and has access to most of the areas up through the Cape and many of the areas across the top end N.T. to W.A. border and a further 2 stations there in the Kimberley’s. He is considering taking one other (only) with him on his 7-10 day excursions.
It’s a big place and seasonal considerations dictate relative times on the ground. These are the things u would need to discuss with him. Be mindful when u call of the time difference and too that often he may be out of communication range for several days, perhaps text till he responds.
