Buff,airports and the calendar

My new bride said she wouldn't be terribly opposed to an Oz buff hunt, in fact she's quite excited about it. So we are in the earliest stages of planning and pretty well stalled out after researching flights. There are plenty of outfitters advertising hunts for 8K or so but I'm not looking for the luxury package. Any guidance for a working man here? And what time of the year is best? Thanks to all!!

and the hunt is considerably less than 8K

Thanks a bunch to all, we have something to chew on now. Andy June is probably out of the question for me but will definite[y be in touch about July. We were talking about 10 days or so in OZ so a 5-6 day hunt will likely be the best deal for me as I have to spend a few days playing tourist and ummm, shopping. Now to finish tillering that 75# bow hiding in the shop.

You may wish to talk to the trophybowhunts guys about the best time of the year to book your hunt.

I would think late September or early October would be a good time.

This is towards the end of the dry season before the wet season kicks in.

Ground water is very scarce and game is concentrated around the remaining water.

This makes it much better hunting.

If you are only going to do this once in a lifetime it would make sense to give your self the best chance, even if it meant deferring to get in at prime time for a hunt.

Min arrow weight and speed for OZ buff please. Anyone use Belcher limbs?

there are a lot of variables
 but id recommend 70lbs with 800grs arrows as a guideline

Sorry to be difficult but speed of arrow please somebody. My personal experience/anecdotal evidence to date tells me that some limbs are much faster than others at the same poundage. I shoot a recurve with peep and sights so any extra speed at same poundage helps as I hold and aim...! Jim Belcher has a great reputation for building efficient limbs, was hoping that someone had first hand knowledge. thanks
