Old boar down
« on: February 11, 2014, 07:46:00 AM »
went on annual hunt with other PBS Members...had a great time but I could only stay two days.  Got me an ugly but fine old boar...

Shot the Mohawk Sparrowhawk...doug fir...190 ribteks...at close range.

Campsite....only accessible by boat

Bloody arrow...and mud all over my waders

Cutters over 1.5 inches above lip....about the same below lip...

Ugly boy....jet black long hair down spine from head to tail....

Worn out after walking in ankle and shin deep mud for hours and hours for two days...hauling pack with emergency gear, first aid, food, water, etc.....and fighting through 6 foot and higher reeds you see in background....interesting and "exciting" to track wounded boar in that stuff I can tell you...haha

He is being turned into italian sausage and bratwurst....and euro mount for skull.  :)

yep...very tough hunting...but the few times you have some success make it all worthwhile...though I am stiff when first getting up from bed or sitting at desk this week still... LOL

Congrats. Looks like tough hunting but I bet it was a blast.
