Bear Super Magnum 48...
« on: February 03, 2006, 07:32:00 AM »
I just picked up a Bear Super Magnum 48. I believe that it is a 1970 since the serial number starts with a K and the medallion is brass and is flush with the bow. The bow riser is a dark brown and the limbs are black glass. I have 2 questions:1. I bought it for $105 and I wondered if I did ok on it? 2. It is in excellent shape but it has been drilled and had sights on it. Can I just use wood filler for the holes and then lightly sand them and match the paint for refinishing purposes?

you did fine on the price, are there stress cracks? common on the 48's. Draw weight would be value consideration as well.I fill holes with a color match epoxy. Good luck!

Thanks. There are a few light horizontal stress cracks on the limbs and the bow is 45lbs.
