Jeff, if the medallion is raised up, I think it is a 1973. But I could be wrong. Good Luck

I would think your bow has to be from late 1970, early 1971.
* 1970 was the first year with "K" serial-#'s
* and the only year with K-serial PLUS 56" lenght
In 1971 the Grizzly was changed to 58" lenght. Program changed mid year - which leaves the above time frame

Dank,the medallion isn't raised it's flush.Falk,I found out somewhere they only made Grizzlys 56" from 1968 to '70 or so...so it sounds like you are probably right on the mark.Thanks to both of you for your help.

Yep it is a 1970. Should have a laminated riser.

i would say your bow is a very late 1970.more than likley one of the last lots made because of the sliver coin.they used brass from coins from 1963-1970 and they were flush with the wood.they were raised above the surface in late 1972.but they used nickle sliver coins in 1971-72,and only made the 56" grizzly from 1968-1970.in theory your bow should have a brass colored coin,unless someone replaced it.but the serial number says 1970.some history there.regards,robert  :campfire:    :coffee:
'TGMM FAMILY of THE BOW"at 211 degrees water is hot.at 212 it boils and cause's steam,which can run a locomotive.is it worth that one extra ounce of effort to finish first,the difference between good and great?
