Frank Eiholtz the spelling might be wrong

Does any one have info on him ,or history he made bow in Southern California in the 60`s throught the 70`s ,he did great recurve bows

There is a great deal of information on Frank Eicholtz in Fred Anderson's book "The Traditional Way- The Mystique and Heritage of Archery". This is a great book overall, and has a number of profiles including Eicholtz. He is known as the father of the laminated bow. He was a real innovator that not a lot of folks realize had a key role in a number of archery innovations. CKruse

i have a 71 BOW&ARROW ARCHERS DIGEST my cousin gave me. in it is a chapter on frank eicholtz titled "Father of the Laminated Bow".during  WW2 he tried making bows from lamicoid, a plastic material that he had used in making illuminated signs.it worked and started his idea of applying plastics to the bow laminations. in 49 he started working with GEORGE GORAN to develop uni-directoinal fiberglass. very interesting chapter.  take care!!!      bob
