Fred Bear TD vs. Custom Kodiak TD limbs
« on: January 08, 2008, 12:58:00 PM »
I have a Grayling magnesium B riser Fred Bear TD bow with two sets of Grayling limbs (#3-33#, #1-45#). I also just picked up a 1997 wood B riser with 60# Gainesville limbs.

I bought a set of 55# Custom Kodiak TD limbs thinking they'd fit, but the distance between the set screw in the riser pocket and the end of the limb is about 1/8"-3/16" longer on these limbs.  Is this normal?  Were the Custom Kodiak limbs intentional designed NOT to fit the Fred Bear TD risers?

If that is the case, does anyone need a set of 55# Custom Kodiak limbs?

Take the screw out, it's only there to keep you from putting the limbs in the wrong pockets, but no they should interchange, mine do. Ans I might be interested in the limbs depending on length and series

Hey guy's,I just had to share with someone and my wife is at work today and probley would not care anyhow and the only other live people I have to talk with are you all.Bear with me....I was cracking up this A.M.As I was working on the auction sight XXXX,and came across something that really really struck me as being odd. There is some guy on there that is selling a Fred Bear take down magnizum riser and limbs. With some story about the owner of the bow being friends with Fred Bear,he had Fred Bear sign his mag T/D and also the original owner hunted several years with Fred at Grousehaven!!!!!!!Please if you have a spare minute today, have a look at this T/D!!!!! signed by Fred Bear in 1965,,,,no way..That bow was not built until 1972,I can't figure out how Fred did that.Check it out,I would not bid myself,as I am pretty certin that ones a fake.... Great sales pitch though.bowdoc

Great minds think alike BowDoc, I emailed that seller this morning asking for clarification of his story. I am not interested in the bow, but the 1965 date made no sense to me. Hope nobody gets burned on this one. (thanks for calling last week Don, sorry I missed your call, do you have time to chat this week?). have a good one!

I thought it was an "Early Prototype"  :)
Way to go.... Enough bad stuff happens there by accident without the  plain old intentional BS.
Doc, did you keep track of the seller to see what other BS he is pulling?
