The 1959 Kodiak Special is my favorite. I have collected that bow in all 5 advertised lengths. Great shooters...

I assume cream is lighter then tan, so I must have a 1960.
The back of the bow is a brwonish red.

Most all had leather grips but that doesn't mean one got out the door without. It was a time of great demand on the company at the time as they were behind schedule after introducing a new bow to the market, the Palimino.

Does the white riser plate and shelf lQQk original to you? The bow was never strung prior to me receiving it a few months ago.
And would that suede case been bought separately or as a set?  I've only ever seen one other case like it.

No one has taken a stab at one of your original questions, not that I noticed anyway.

How much are they worth.

For starters, as always, they are worth what someone will pay, no more - no less.

The Cougar is a semi-recurve and was never as desirable as a Pearson full recurve,  The Colt was the 62" Pearson bow with a full working recurve.

This is not the case with he Kodiak Special.  It was one of the best Bows Bear ever made and really sought after by collectors and shooters alike.

I will not guess at their value, but I will tell you that in my opinion, the Kodiak Special is probably worth about ten times what the Cougar is.

I would be interested in hearing what others think about this.  Remember My statement is based on "my opinion".
