Herter's repaired by Mike Robin aka Bamboo

I've just received my Herter's 56" Perfection recurve back from Mike Robin aka Bamboo.
Someone of you might remember he posted a request on how to match the mustard color.    
When I called him just alil while ago I said the top limb lQQks great I can't tell it was replced, he reminded me it wasn't, the bottom was  replaced. Just goes to show what great of job he did.

Brown Trout fishing in the hill lochs is great but your catch is directly related to your stamina and fly selection/presentation/good luck   . Atlantic Salmon to be had for a price... Sea fishing for 200 lb plus skate etc...

I have a HertersPerfection Mag 62,  55lbs @ 28in,
serial # m.620673001. I'm wondering what it's worth. Do any of you fellas have an idea. I want to sell it but don't really know what to ask for it. It's in great shape, a few minor scratches but nothing a good refinish job wouldn't cure. None are into the wood, just surface scratches in the finishand only a couple.
Any info would be great.

Pictures would be very helpful. 1973 model? depends what wood it is made of. The Magnum was probably the best shooter Herters made IMHO. Good hunting weight. The 60's models were in most cases a bit more attractive in design, not as bulky as the newer ones. Give us a look?

Looks like a September 1968 model.

 the only thing i did different was,i used a section of limb[thanks to brian]to scavenge some vintage Farbenglass---i split it down the middle-with my band saw-then sanded the wood off--took maybe an hour--then proceeded with the limb tip --probably the most difficult part was fading the new finish into the old without refinishing the entire bow

Brian so I guess the nubers for Herter's read like this?

09 - month built
68 - year built
04 - I assume fourth bow for thta month?

That 49.5" string is gonna give some brace height of about 10" I say?
Why this design? What did think to accomplish?

A couple question this leads me to is:
- Why that rest design?
- Sort of limits ya to what ya can do as for not being able to shoot off the shelf?
- I assume the bow is tiller for that rest position?

Yeah that's the way I read the serial number. Although it says it's a 56" bow it's probably really a 54" bow according to the way they are measured nowdays. The info I have say's it should have a brace height of 9 3/4" - 10 1/4" measured from string to back of riser. Most Herters bows were not designed to shoot off the shelf, they figured shooting off a rest was better. That is the original Herters rest by the way. Tiller? measure it at the fadeouts and see what you come up with..
