Broadhead trade
« on: April 02, 2008, 11:52:00 PM »
Hello all.

Given that every time I look at a broadhead collection I find them more and more interesting and engrossing I figured I'd start putting together a little something for my own wall.  I have a couple of extra three blase broadheads that I think are called "Little Shaver's".  I understand that the idea was to put a razor blade in the recess.  These are not new, they show a bit of use, but are interesting none the less (at least to me).  Anyone interested in a trade?

Thanks for looking.

-Matt

Hi Matt!

They look like what you said. This would be the 1957 model with the ridge above the ferrule which I allready own, but if you happen to have one without the ridge, well, there would be a deal ...

Morning Matt,
I just recently started collecting also, glad to see your willing to trade in this buy-it,sell-it, make money world. I also have that head but only one and would like an extra or two. What broadhead would you like or do you need.

Falk - I have one without the crease but only one, how hard is it to find that model.

Don,
I think both are not to hard to find, the one with ridge being the more common one. It is just that I don't have one without ridge.
But this is also due to the fact, that, in the first place, for collecting BH's I am living in the wrong part of the world.
With my limited sources and resources I always prefered to take a completely different head before getting every single modification of one particular type.

Money-wise both are low grade heads - most often not reaching $10. But I think the Little Shaver's have great eye appeal and are of unique construction. This makes them a "must have", not matter if expensive or not.

Don,

This was one of my first acquisitions so I'm open to almost any trade from the same general time period.

Sorry Falk, all of the ones I have have the ridge.  Thanks for the information about the date of manufacture.  Do you have any suggestion about good resources for more of that type of information?

Thanks
-Matt

Evening Matt,
I just joined the ABCC last year and it has been all good. Everyone that I have spoken to has been great and very willing to share their knowledge on heads and collecting. As far as resources, the broadhead collecting bible so to speak is Wade Phillips' books. They can be found on E-@@@ but will set you back about $130.00 for the two of them. I havn't made the leap yet but everyone swears by them. I'll put together a care package and send it your way. See if I can add a little fuel to that collecting fire.
