My old 1959 Bear Kodiak was bouts to....
« on: August 21, 2008, 09:35:00 AM »
..hit the road to help pay for my up comeing mule deer elk black bear and mountian lion hunt starting next thursday (yahooooo).I was going to unload a couple bows as I generally do.I do just before leaveing town for what could be from 1-4 weeks of hunting. You know,if I call my wife say 2 weeks into the season and ask her to deposit a little extra dough into the old bowdoc's debit card account so's I can purchase oh lets say 10 cans of Kodiak premium wintergreen chewing tabackie,10 pounds of spuds some beans...you guy's see where this one's headed right? you wanta go hunting honey ????? sell some of your bows.So I do and it and all usely washes pretty clean by the end of the season....but this year I know we all know things have gone up a little,so's I needed a little extra dough and was going to....OK OK I did not do it,I could not do it,I still can't do it,I had a guy flagging an undisclosed amount of cash (looking like a nice whitetail buck I saw last winter on the late season) under my nose last night.....There was no way could I let him have the old girl,I actually got a little pissed off at myself for even letting these fools shoot the damn thing. It felt like I was watching some scum bags kissing on my wife and maybe a little grooping going on too,for gods-sake kinda made me a little quizzie in the gut don't ya'know.Seeing these rookie meatmead don't know sh*& from shine-olla ai'nt got a clue and ai'nt never gonna be...wantbe bowhunters. They were just driveing my friggen Bill Sweetland Forgewood arrows into my Mac 3d kill zone from 20 yards out, made my sick...Then I woke up this morning and realized, these boy's had fondled one of the finest lady's to ever walk the pike...They were impressed with her,all 3 of these guy's wanted to take her home. All of them oddly enough seemed to shoot her great, hell all 3 of them seemed to shoot better then they ever had.Strange, but is there really some magic about the 59 Kodiak...what keeps bringing some of us back to that darn 59 K.....well a couple thing I'am purty certin about this morning. When I leave town next week the 59 is coming along.I may not use her to hunt with pending on conditions...but one thing is for sure, there are 3 soon to be young bowhunter and one purty damn old one (me)that all got a new respect for one of Fred's true loves last night....what a great old bow the 1959 Kodiak is......NFS bowdoc

Good stuff there Don.  :D

Why do posts like that get a person all worked up for a particular bow?

Give us some particulars on the "girl" you're soooo in love with Doc.  :bigsmyl:

Glad you kept it. It's in good hands.
