Little Bear info
« on: November 14, 2008, 09:05:00 AM »
I acquired this bow about 15 years ago and it has moved around the family as the kids grew up.  It is now back in my possession and I have a couple of questions.  It is a Bear "Little Bear".  AMO 48 15# at 24in.  Serial number on it is LB 284901.  It has a Bear decal instead of a coin on it.  I know how to decode most of the Kodiak serial numbers, but not this one.  I assume this bow was probably made in the late 80's in Gainesville?  The black limbs and maple riser are in pretty nice shape and show the same quality as the Grizzlies.  Are these short draw, light pound bows worth anything?  I am planning on putting it on my wall with my other bows and just wanted to know a little more about it.

I have seen Li'l Bears go from $50.00 to $150.00 depending on the year, the condition, and who is bidding on them and how bad they want it.

That is a great starter bow for a kid.  If I were you I would keep it passing around the family to get the young'uns started.  An '80's model would not be that collectible, in my opinion, but  it is a great bow to have around.

The most important part of your hunting setup is the broadhead.  The rest is just the delivery system.

All of the kids in my family are grown up now, but I suppose before too long I'll have grandkids and I plan on saving it for them.
