David,
Here is a spine chart for wood arrows.  The way I figure it would be you are drawing close to 38# at your draw with 27" arrows so if you add 10# it would put you around 48# spine.  I'd try either 45-50 or 50-55.  Maybe someone could lend you a sample of both to try but if the 50-55 are too stiff you could go with a heavier head.

I've been assembling the tools and stuff and started building some woodies but until now I've used some old #8 Micro-Flight fiberglass that shoot really well and some over spined 2117 XX75s that still shoot OK.  There has to be 30# difference in spine between the two but they shoot fine out of 4 bows ranging from 41# -45#.

Good advice from the dog man.

I shoot woodies spined at 55-60 out of my 45# bows and Im pulling right at 28. So - I would try some 50-55's. I got mine from Brandywine Arrows. Called them to place the order - they were done the next day and he mailed them overnight!

From my experience most Bear recurves are cut very close to center making arrow spine selection much less critical. You should error on the side of too heavy. A stiffer arrow will fly just fine out of your 64 Kodiak

Bill,
They are nice looking arrows.  What am I doing making my own?  I know....I'm stubborn.
