Making a copy of the bear Kodiak help needed
« on: December 31, 2008, 11:02:00 AM »
Hello Guys, I have every I need to make a copy of the Kodiak I would like to make the 1960s. After some time last night I found out that my bow form I  picked up from a older friend was made into the shape of the Kodiak or so I was told. I have every thing I need even the bear glass that was used on these bows in the 1960s. But I would like to know how long the riser is and how tall. ( if some one could add pics that would be great) Also what woods they were  made out of. My core wood I change from maple to bambbo.    :help:

Thanks for the help guys.
Cody

Hi Cody
Try Chad at Holmade bows, He can give you some measurements.
He's a really nice guy to deal with and does a Kodiak repro. He can give you some great pointers.
         Good luck

Cody, there were 3 riser lengths for the 3 different bows: 56" 60" and 64". The riser featers into the limb making the length a bit subjective, especially for an exact measurement. Let me know what length of bow you are making, and I will take pics and measurements for you.
Take lots of pics and make notes as you work on this it is a great project.
