Proud to be part of this community....
« on: February 06, 2009, 01:25:00 PM »
All joking aside, there is a thread on *********** titled "Good-bye" regarding a guy who has fallen on hard times, lost his house, no work, etc. The out-pouring of help and support is a little over-whelming to read. I am proud to be associated with a group of people that step up to the plate like this when someone is down on their luck. Once again I am reminded what is really important in life and that there still is some good in the world. I am humbled and grateful for what I have and the people I call "friend" whether I have met them in person or not.
I was born with nothing and I still have most of it left.

I read that Chuck and frankly, I felt the same way. From little things that were important only to me to large matters such as the one you just mentioned I have never been associated with a more caring or supportive group of people. Its is humbling.                        Grant

I know what you mean.  IT is like everyone here ont his forum are like family, even though most of us have never met.

Keep in mind that at this very moment we can be secure and safe.  In an instant we can be destitute.  It does not always happen to someone else. With that in mind, we should be ready to help our own community today; because tomorrow it might be me, or you.

Yes, we are very fortunate to have found a group of people that still have what it takes, weather its moral support or whatever else we can do as individuals at that time.

The pissing matches, really pale in comparison, to what happened to Nut and the response it got.

I am in awe of our ability to come together,I hope that in the days ahead of us,we keep supporting our friends and forget the petty difference's.

I consider you guy's family, and if I can ever help, don't hesitate.

It truly is a fine example of how caring we as a society can be.  Kinda renewed my faith in humanity.

I offered to let Nut stay here (as did many others) and shoot a little in the backyard during his stay but havent heard from him.  Not sure what path he was taking to get to Texas.

Like one drop of water, I'm just happy to have had the opportunity to be part of the wave.

The thread and the effort didnt really surprise me all that much though.  I've been involved with organized archery and bowhunting organizations since I was a teenager and have met and shared campfires with some of the finest men and women that walk on God's good earth.  I've witnessed similar examples of "helping thy fellow archer" on a smaller scale numerous times.

What a honorable fraternity to be a part of.

It is truely amazing how fast that is adding up for Nutmeg and family, I am sure they are humbled by all our generosity and it could be any of us in that posistion. I donated the first day and it felt good.Lets hope for better times for them.
