1963 Bear Kodiak Mag Type III

Acquired one of these in 55# and mint condition, but am afraid to string it up without checking first with someone here.  I've got a 1963 Kodiak and it's one of my favorite shooters, but is this Kodiak Mag OK to shoot?

type 1 was the model that was recalled.but after lots of research most of those were damaged from step thru stringing rather then any defects in the bow themselves...I shot heck out of all 3 models I had...bd

Use a stringer.  Once strung, pull i lightly but don't draw.  Listen for strange creaks and groans.

If I were you, I would leave it strung up overnight.  Next day do a half draw, then 3/4, then full draw and down.

If it survives all that, stry a shot.  If it don't crack up you should be good to go.

Once you have it strung...'d leave it strung.

Type 3 is as shootable as any other K Mag IMHO.
A 55# is a very nice bow. I had a 52# that was great; but like an idiot I sold it.
