Cliff Coe Deerfield Bow
« on: March 24, 2009, 05:10:00 AM »
I have a chance to look at a mint Coe Archery Co Deerfield bow by Cliff Coe. I'm trying to research the value on his stuff without much luck. Anyone here with knowledge of his stuff and a ball park value of it, please help me out.

I am a little surprised that there isn't more interest in Cliff Coe bows especially in Michigan. I have a couple including the last bow that he signed I picked them both up pretty cheap. They hardly ever show up on the auction site, so my advice is go check it out with the understanding that the price is whateve it is worth to you.

Roy...I have 5 of Cliff's bows ,I would say they go for 100 to 200 all depends on condition. I'm always looking for ones I don't have for his display case if you pass on them. His book has the bows he made and it sure is a good book.

Your bow: Coe Deerfield Deluxe , Large sight window Handle section of Bubinga, Brazilian Tulipwood and Rosewood, Manufactured in Mid 60's

1.His bow and quiver he used. bow marked in Scrip Coe Archery Co.Leather grip + he signed it.

2,3.Two matched bamboo backed long bows they are 59 1/2" & 35 1/2" + he signed to someone

4.One bushnock bow.61 1/2" has stamped Clifford W. Coe   Otter Lake,Mich. Leather grip

5.One recurve bow 57" has decals Wolverine Hunter & Coe Archery Co. Otter Lake, Mich.Leather grip + he signed it

Cliff's bows are a rare find but for some reason they do not draw a lot of attention. I just picked up a bow in an auction and I am hoping it is a Coe. The pictures are hard to tell but it looked enough like one that I just had to buy it.
Also it is a lefty and if I can hunt with it that would be awesome. It's sitting at the post office waiting for me to pick it up Monday.
I got to be friends with Cliff a few years before he passed and he was a true archery pioneer and one of the finest gentlemen you can meet.   :)
