This weekend I stopped by a Pawn Shop in Blairsville, Ga. They had a pristine early '60's USAC CENTURION. 70" 40#. It had a complete reynolds sight, a nice old leather tournament quiver with 11 nice 1916 Easton arrows, and the "coup de gras" was a complete Bear Jefferies Omni Bow sight.
The only draw back is that the bow had an aluminum bracket screwed into the sight window to accept the OMNI.
They were only asking $200, for the while load, includuing armguard and glove.
The bow was gorgeous...mint except for the drilled holes for the Reynolds sight and the aluminum bracket.
It is on consignment from an older guy (my age) that used to shoot tournaments in the '60's. The Pawn Shop owner claimed that the guy shot tournaments in the '60's with all the big names, including Fred Bear...cough...hmmmm... yeah right. He said it was a custom made bow which could mean speacial order form USAC. In any case, it was gorgeous. Since I am retiring, I need to quit investing in more bows so I just bit my lip and passed on it. It had been in there for a while, and I know if I had offered him $150, he could have called the owner and I would have had it. I figure the bow alone on e8ay would have been over $400 if the right bidders saw it. $800.00 if offered by AIG.
Sometime ya just gotta walk away. I have the Pawn Shops card if anyone is interested in making an offer.
