Wanna discuss Super K's?
« on: May 04, 2009, 08:02:00 PM »
I'm trying to figure out these Supers, I've decieded to pick up one of each. Question 1 What lengths were available from '67.5 to '71, I've saw the first Super (1967) in 64" alot, was 60" available?
Serial # starts with year of manufacture (my '68 starts with an eight) from 67,68,69.

In 70 they drop the micarta risers and go wood, No stabilizer and silks on the back equal a 1970?

Stabilizer and silks still on the back equal 1971?

Stabilizer and silks on the belly equal 1972?

'73 is the red stripes, I saw where Raineman had one that is 47 digits away from mine, serial # in the high 18000, How do you sure ID a '74?

'75 Blue stripe with white/black/white overlays...'76 Bluestripe with no overlays?

Next question is about the stickers, what years had the Victor shield?

How about the orange stickers pointing to the stabilizer hole?

The little I know is 64" was only available in 67-70. 60" was available in 68 and 70 and probably other years as well. The silk was moved to the belly in 72.

Right Bryce- The 60" Super was in the line-up from the beginning of the Super K to the end of the Grayling era- then resurrected along with the model designation after the move to Gainesville- it was a slightly different design cosmetically then and some would say in other respects as well.            Grant

My Super K is a '74 red stripe with a Victor shield above Super K silk on the face S#KZ20500 60". The '76 Super K has blue overlays on the back of the riser and on the tips.Hope this helps.

The Super K.'s were always 60". And, still are. They were available in 64" lengths from 67.5 to 1970. My 1969, 48#, 64" S.K. is the smoothest bow I've ever shot.

I bought a pair of 1970 Super K's this week one 64" and the other 60", I'm looking forward to trying the longer length model.

How about my sticker question? Anybody? Can you buy from anyone the orange stickers that point to the stabilizer holes? Did Bear put these on all stabilizer hole bows?
