'97 Bear TD

Guys, I got a shot at buying a 1997 Fred Bear TD. It's a B handle and 50#. I was told it's in cherry, mint condition and a real good shooter. My question is.........was this a good year for this bow and how would you rate it? I'm very interested in this bow. 1997 was the year I visited the Fred Bear Museum down in Florida. I only made it there one time and I really enjoyed the visit. I remember eyeballing the Td's in the spray room. I wanted one so bad but didn't have the cash at the time. Well, any information on the '97 Bear TD is much appreciated..........IJ

I always the takedowns from this era were plain, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It would be more of a shooter than a collector. How much are they asking?

I like the '97-98 better than the post-2000's.  Mostly b/c I don't like the looks of the compass and the riser has more of a brownish tone than gray.

all of the Bear Archery take down bows built after 1996 are pretty much the same.As the riser wood was all suppied by the same supplier.All risers were cut on the same duplacater machine with the same master riser.I kind of like all year Bear T/D's myself.Some shoot a little better then others but a guy can always try different limbs on said riser.bowdoc
