Albert J. "Al" READER READER Albert J. ("Al"), age 64 of North Haledon, on Sunday, May 31, 2009. Born in Passaic, Al resided in North Haledon since the early 1980's. He was an offset pressman for Sandy Alexander, Inc. of Clifton before retiring two years ago. Al served his country as a member of the National Guard. He was an avid outdoorsman and a founding member of the Traditional Archers of New Jersey whose main objective is to actively promote and protect quality bowhunting. Al was considered the foremost authority on Bear Bows sharing his knowledge worldwide with both young and old. Beloved husband of Nina L. Harby of North Haledon and loving stepfather of David of Rochester, NY and Christopher of Franklin Lakes. Beloved brother of Carol Planten of Hewitt and dear uncle to many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be private. In lieu flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Traditional Archers of New Jersey, 539 Oaktree Lane, Jackson, NJ 08527. Browning-Forshay, Hawthorne, NJ.

Al was one of the most knowledgeable informative people I've ever met in the collectible archery field.. I've talked to Al on the phone on several occasions & to my suprise he spent endless minutes showering me with information on artifacts of the Bear archery industry.I remember someone telling me he was going to be at Compton 2008 & I could not wait to meet Al.What a pleasant personable guy.He even took the time to sign an arrow for me.I hope that we, as we walk in his (and others) footsteps  can conduct ourselves in a manor as Al did.Giving & sharing endlessly to so many people.
