59-60 kodiak special
« on: June 15, 2009, 02:03:00 PM »
I know that this may be a lost yet worthy cause but so is my shooting.  So here I go.   I'm looking for a 40-55 lb lefty 59 or 60 Kodiak.  Thanks  Bhill

I'm not sure, I thought 59 / 60 kodiak was the same thing but I have been wrong before.  Do you have any leads either way ?  If there is a difference, I would appreciate the info.  Thanks BHill

I have both a LH 59 Kodiak Special and a 60 Kodiak, 40#'s, but more interested in trading than selling. Have trade bait?

I'm new to this and only have a few collectable bows, 1969 wing head ski thunderbird, lh 62 in 50 at 28, 1955 kodiak special lh 64 47 at 28,   bear cub about the same stats, and 1972 head ski red wing hunter lh 52in 45 at 28,  I just don't see you wnting any of these but I'm willing to discuss that, but I would like to see what you would be willing to sell either of the 2 bows you mentioned.  I'm also just leaning about old bears and am interested in knowing the differences between the two models, kodiak vs. the kodiak special.  Thanks Bhill

Brent,if you are going to get into this madness like the rest of us it would be very helpfull if you were to pick up the Bear Archery catologs on CD it covers the Grayling Years (1948 to 1978).It's a great reference tool. I use mine all the time.Good luck in your quest  :wavey: .

That sounds like a good idea.  Where do you get the cd ?  With the overabundance of lh 59's, this does feel more like a quest than an ordinary trip to cabelas.  But for the record, I did find a lh 60 kodiak special at a cabelas in a display case and I'm currently in limited negotiations. (thats begging them to sell it to me for short)  I never thought I would have to beg cabelas to sell me anything.  Wish me luck.
