stabilizer bushing for wing slim line pro

Just got an AMF Wing slim line pro model and tried to put one of my stabilizers in the bushing.  The bushing was too small.  I have a few questions.  Does anyone know if the older bows used a smaller bushing on a routine basis than is currently used?  Also, how hard would it be to replace the bushing?  And lastly, are adapters available to convert the new size accessories to the older bows?

Are you talking about a bushing just below the handle or the two bushings that were put on the wing bows above and below the handle but farther apart that on other makes of the day?
   The dual bushings were of a smaller thread size 1/4-28 and weren't the same size as most handle located stabilizer bushings. (5/16-24). The dual bushing were for stabilizer weights or short stabilizers.
  If your bow has a bushing installed just below the handle, like in the Bear bows, and it is not a 5/16-24 than you have an odd sized bushing.
  I do not know if they make readily available converters but you could certainly have one made. What is the thread size of the bushing on your bow?       jwingman

Did the Slim Line have the 2 bushings for the Wing Bow Quiver? One above and one below on the riser on the back of the bow?

The bow has a bushing on the back at both fades, as well as a bushing in the normal location for a stabilizer bushing.  I don't actually know what size it is.  I just know that my old stabilizers from my compounds won't fit in it.  I'll have to try to get some measurements.

In this photo, there is a cap in the stabilizer bushing, which comes out pretty easy.

I recognize the top and bottom bushing. That's for the Wing bolt on quiver. Were pretty popular and still are.

It looks like the stabilizer is threaded 5/16-24, and possibly the bushing is as well.  I think the first couple of threads are stripped in the bushing.  I got a 5/16-18 bolt and that didn't work either. I looked for a 5/16-24 tap at lowe's and all they had was 5/16-18. Guess I'll surf the web to see what is out there.

Why not just replace the bushing? Cheaper than buying a tap

Well, I messed around and the bushing is a little loose.  After I got my courage up, I tried to pull it out and then replace it.  No luck so far.  Guess I'll keep at it.  Even though it turns, it is still in there pretty tight.

Use heat  carefully. Try to put a screw in there and then heat the screw so it heats the bushin and you can pull itout

I got it out last night.  I couldnt get a screw in real well, so I used my drill with a just barely too large bit.  It got wedged and spun the insert enough so that I could pull it out.  Ordered a new bushing from 3 rivers.  Should be a piece of cake from here.  Thanks for the help.
