Browning Wasp
« on: July 02, 2009, 08:32:00 AM »
Several years ago, I had a small but nice collection of old bows. More of a display than for use. I lost them to a thief, but anyhow...

Last year, I decided to get a recurve to hunt deer for more of a challenge. I purchased a new, modern, Grizzly.

Then, I started to notice old recurves and long bows are out there for a song. I passed a few up at first. Now, it seems that I can't go anywhere without seeing old bows. The latest is a Browning Wasp(?). I'm guesing early to mid 70's ?

I think my archery pusher is getting suspicious of all the strings I've been buying lately...

Very nice looking bow. If I run across one I think I just might have to get one to. So how does it handle?

THE FIRST BOW I EVER BOUGHT NEW FOR HUNTING WAS A BROWNING WASP, 45#ER, IN 1971.  I STILL HAVE IT AND IT SHOOTS GREAT.  I'VE USED IT FOR DEER, BOW-FISHING, TARGETS, STUMP-SHOOTING, ETC.  I OWN MANY MORE BOWS NOW, BUT STILL GET THE WASP OUT FOR TARGETS ONCE IN AWHILE.....HAS A FEW BATTLE SCARS, BUT STILL SHOOTS FINE.    SOUROWL
