Bear coin refinish?
« on: July 25, 2009, 01:26:00 PM »
I have gotten bitten by the bug and have refinished a half a dozen older bears over the last year or so.  I am really enjoying taking a beater and bringing it back to something that looks like it just left the sales rack. I know you guys have a lot more experience with this stuff than I do so I have a question about the Bear coins.

Several of the bows I have done have the raised button coins in them.  A couple look like they have ridden around in the back of a pickup truck full of gravel most of their lives and the coins have little to no finish left on them, lots of plastic showing through.  Do you guys just spray them with a metallic gold or silver spray paint or is there something else you use to make the coin look new again before you reinstall them?

That's what I would do.  Just spray em.
