Kodiak Special-age?
« on: August 18, 2009, 12:37:00 PM »
A friend picked up a Kodiak Special and was wondering the age. I knew someone here would be able to pinpoint it. The writing on the bow is as follows:

      A
     X(S or 5)268
     64"
     35#
Thank you for your help. lh

Sorry Don, no pics. Bow has been really abused and is not shootable. Friend bought it for a wall hanger and was just curious about its age. Thanks, Mike

I was born with nothing and I still have most of it left.

Thanks, I was wondering about '55. The glass on the back looks to be a cream/green color, somewhat like inside of artichoke. Not sure what aging has done to it. Has I-beam riser. Thanks for your help.

Doc, not sure which is which but the 1953 pat decal is the same as on my 1970 grizzly. At least its green in color. Both paper tips have fallen off. If it weren't that one of the tips was broken at the nock groove, I would put the bow at critical but not quite dead. Thanks again for your help. lh

lone hunter - Check the first page of this Kodiak Special Identification thread to identify your Kodiak Special...

If you can not pinpoint the date, let us know and we will revise the thread to include the information you need to identify your bow.

Man Wade, there's a ton of information there. I added it to my favorite list for future reference. I think alaskabowhunter was right about the dates. Judging from the pics, Iam pretty sure the bow is a 1955. Thanks to everyone that helped with this. lh
