Golden Bear?
« on: August 18, 2009, 06:50:00 PM »
Picked  one up today. All gold fiberglass with  black tips and black handle.  Looks to be a kids bow.  Anyone heard of these?  Bear is stamped on the tips and handle.

they had several of these Golden Bear, Red Bear, Green Fox, and maybe others.
I had a red bear as a kid.
They may have had some in heavier weights, not sure though.

Common with black rubber grip with two shelfs. Black plastic tips and usually in the 40 to 45 pound range.

This one is 25#.  I also have seen the red, grey, yellow and black but never seen or heard of a golden bear.  Just thought it was unusual and wanted some info on it if anyone knew.  Thanks for your responses.

John here's a little trivia on Golden Bear. Some archery items that are marked or stamped Golden Bear actually had nothing to do with Bear Archery but was a company in California hence the Golden Bear Archery. Here's a pic of a bow stringer from Golden Bear Archery you can just barely see the pat.no.but sorry to say the name Golden Bear Archery is almost worn off and did not show in the pic.Long story behind Golden Bear Archery..bd

Thanks DOC.  Didn't hear much from the experts on here so I thought I pi$$ed someone off.  I knew I could count on you for a response.  I have to go to the truck and look at the bow again but I thought the Bear Archery Bear was on the tips and handle which led me to believe its from Bear Archery.  Can't check it out right n ow as I am with my dad who is in the hospital with some major health issues.  will check the bow out later today.
