Looks like this is an accident waiting to happen, even though the seller says "lamination tight".

Looks like a failed repair to me.  Notice how much longer the limb tip that is undamaged is.

My guess is that the damage is to the lower limb tip (not as "pointy" as the other one), and that the damage occurred because someone tried to string it by the "stick the lower limb tip in the instep push-pull" technique, but was standing in gravel and pushed the limb tip into the gravel under the instep.

Could have been run over by a "rogue" skier there in Killington VT. Shoot some loctite 420 in there and good as new. He is offering a 100%gurantee though....
