Groves Flame Recurve.... Any info?
« on: October 09, 2009, 06:20:00 PM »
My Trad buddy just got a Groves Flame recurve. 45@28 56 inch. Does anybody know anything about this bow? We were wondering what the brace height should be and any history about the Grove line of bows. I cant seem to find any info about them doing a search. Are they good bows? Are the up to par with Bears ,Ben Pearsons in their day??
Thanks,
JT

Made by Harold Groves, very desireable nice shooting bows. Known for the hand made dyna stress limb pattern. advertised in the 60,s to have 20% or more speed than other bows of the period and flat trajectory. I have one and it is a hunting bow and one of the nicest bows I own.
