Looking for limbs - Dickie Roberts TD-2
« on: January 08, 2010, 12:07:00 PM »
Does anybody know where I might get ahold of some original 40# or 45# limbs (in good, useable condition) to fit the Dickies TD-2 target bow by Dickie Roberts?

Here is the link to a vintage advertisement for the bow that I am referring to:

I'd also like to hear comments from others that have knowledge of, or experience with this particular model.  For those not familiar with them, they are really nice shooting bows that were used for hunting as well as target.

Any help locating limbs will be very much appreciated.

Thanks,
Ron

Looks like Golden Eagle limbs could have a chance to work. Jim

Thanks for the input Jim.  I have a Golden Eagle also and unfortunately the limbs attach in a slightly different manner, but thanks for the thought.  I've got a couple real nice sets of 35# limbs for my TD-2, but would like to find some heavier ones.  I'm sure I could have some made, but I'd rather stick with originals - if I can find them.
I will be away for a couple days - will check in with this thread when I get back.
Regards,
Ron

Anybody???

Besides for the info in the advertisement that I found (linked in my first post in this thread) and some discussions that I've had with Denny Sturgis Sr. a few years back, I've been unable to find any other information about the history of Dickie Roberts "Fireball" bows.  My experience is that the TD-2 is a very well-balanced and exceptionally nice shooting bow.  I would be interested to find out if Dickie Roberts made a shorter, hunting-length skeletonized metal riser bow similar to the TD-2.  I think in the last several years, I have only seen one Dickies bow (wood riser) sell on the auction site, so they must not be very common.

Again, any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Ron
