I use 7 1/2,but on most of my bows I stay always on the lower end.

My early S.K.'s seem to shoot best around 8 1/4". Thats from the deepest part of the grip to string.

Stagetek is on the money. Around 8" give or take is going to give you the best of all worlds; good arrow flight, quietness, and stability. GY
