Kodiak Magnum + Case value?
« on: February 12, 2010, 12:25:00 PM »
I was wondering if anyone could give me an approximation for the vaule of a '69 Kodiak Magnum plus it's case?

The bow is Right-handed, 43#, and in almost pristine condition.

The case is the standard black soft case with red interior lining and is in excellent condition.  It also still has the round hanging tag marked 'Bear' attached to the zipper.

I have tried to do my homework on this by searching past threads and also by looking at ****, but the problem is that I can't find hardly anything about the case.  I was also very surprised by the wide differences that k-mags were selling for on **** and couldn't see a reason for the differences.

I'm asking because I do plan on putting these items up for sale so that I can give my wife a nice present for her birthday and I want to ask a fair price without overcharging or giving the items away.

Anyway, I appreciate any help that you can give.

Thanks,

Steve

Steve, Bow is a little on the light side but in pristine condition. I would say your bow is in the 175.00- 200.00 range. I see a lot of variations in prices on the cases. You might do better spitting them up and sell as a separate item. Maybe someone else will chime in here so you get a few different ideas. Gary

Does the bow have black top overlays and tips? If so that will help you in the resale dept. I agree you will probably do better if you split them up.

Your best course of action may be to take some very good photos of the bow and case, put them on e b a y and see what they bring.

The '69 Kmag is not the best year Kmag, IMO, as far as looks go, so you may be better off reaching a larger number of likely buyers.

I'm sure if you placed an add in the classifieds on TG asking $300 for bow and case, you'ld get some interest as well. You can always reduce if it seems too high.

Thanks, guys for the input.  I appreciate the help.  As for the bow, it has white overlays and tips and I also made a mistake on my description of the case.  Instead of a red interior lining, it has a white fleece interior.

IMO 160.00 to 200.00 tops due to the poundage. On E*** people seem to go a little overboard though. Some of those prices, (asking and paying both) are a little high. To each his own though.

A 43# kodiak mag is valued at $100 to $150, IMO.
