Coin for 73 Grizzly
« on: April 23, 2010, 07:13:00 AM »
I have a 73 Grizzly that I am trying to sell to raise a little cash for sticshooter & Shell.  The bow is in great condition, but is missing the original coin.  Can you tell me what coin should go into this bow?  Brass or aluminum?
Thanks!

Hi Whip
Late '72-'73 started the raised plastic medallions either silver or gold color. The catalog only shows the shelf sides so no help there.
My '73 Kmag has the raised silver medallion.
The riser hole should be small for the post on the back.
I have one on my black bear fishing bow you can have if you dont find one.

Thanks, I'll keep my eyes open and see what I can find.
I didn't refinish the bow because it is in such good shape.  There is a nickel in the hole now and I haven't taken it out, so didn't know what was underneath.
I knew the answer would be found here!
If anyone has a plastic medallian they might like to part with please let me know.
Thanks!

If it has a nickel in a hole, then it doesn't use the raised plastic button. Just a heads up.

The plastic buttons attached with a stud in a 1/8" +/- hole.

So is it a 73 like I thought, or maybe a 72?  I was basing it on the location of the decals, but maybe I have it wrong.  I have it listed in the classifieds here:

Frank had some EEG(?) test done on Monday - I haven't heard if they got any results back from that yet or not, but keep on praying that everything will turn out fine for him!

That's a very nice pair of bows!
Thank you for the post as I have been curious on this for some time.
