Old Elk Calls
« on: May 25, 2010, 11:30:00 PM »
When digging through some old boxes, I ran into some old elk calls that I have from long ago. It jogged some memories. Remember the old Burnahm Brothers rubber tube call that came with a 45 instruction record? Or the old Olt Tube whistle? I also have one made from coiled refrigerant tubing. I think these are from the late 60's as I have had them since about that time. Before the use of diaphragm calls, I remember a guy from Hayden, CO who won calling contests with his voice. His main competition was an 80 year old gal, who also used her voice. Boy have we come far with elk calling.
If man were to know everything in advance, there would be no such thing as adventure!
