Looking for PBS History Information
« on: June 07, 2010, 01:26:00 PM »
Hello all,

I am working with some other PBSers on expanding the information they have on the PBS's history. I remember reading an article in a local bowhunting organizations newsletter that described the early years of PBS but I don't remember where it was.

If any of you know about something like this (an article, photos, video, whatever) please send me a copy or put me in touch with someone who can help me get it.

Thanks to all,

Roger Rothhaar is the longest active member having joined in 1965.

Next time you see Bill Fowlkes tell him Kelly and Roger sa, "HI" I joined in 1970-sorry to say I don't have any of the old Newsletters anymore-don't think Roger has any, either but he might. You could call him Larry.

Since Bowhunter magazine started in the Fall of 1972 am assuming you want info for earlier? You might try Bow and Arrow magazine for any earlier articles. Did you check with Liquid Amber?

I joined in '72 and was a regular member and do have some newsletters and membership lists until '79 or so.  I'm not presently a member but let me know if you are interested in anything.

Kelly, good ideas, especially our resident historian Liquid Amber.

Reddogge, give me a call at the number I listed above and we can get together and look over what you have. I'd like to make copies of what you have.

I have everything but one magazine and a newsletter or two, plus magazine articles from our beginning.  I returned your email and you can have all or any piece if you will pay the freight.  Retirement is closing in and the herd is being thinned.

The only thing I'm keeping are the two annuals, which, IMO, contain some of the best writing around.  My favorite magazines are the two PBS Annuals and three Alaskan Bowhunter issues.
