Shawn, you said this about a 54" Shrew longbow. Maybe you were thinking about the regular Super Shrew?

Nope, the Shrew at that length will pinch ya, unless you are talking the Lil' Favorite.
The Shrew Classic Hunter longbow in 52 and 54" lengths has a 14" riser as opposed to the Super Shrews 16" riser. That along with a different limb design give it a smooth non stacking draw.

Maybe you didn't read this on my web site by Randy Gustafson when he talked about not a 54" but a 52" Shrew Classic Hunter longbow.

"Ron - as I said in my e-mail to Gregg , we really put the new 52" Shrew Classic (52LB. @ 28") to the test at last weeks Traditional Archery night.  We had 7 guys shoot the bow and they all not only loved it , but they could't believe how well they could shoot it. Their draw lengths ranged between 26" to an honest 29.5".
Some of the comments were "it draws so smooth" , "it's so comfortable in my hand", "wow is this quiet" "I can shoot this better than my bow" and the first comment from everyone that picked it up " holy cow is this light!".
We shot for over 3hrs. and I think I only got to shoot 10 arrows with it, somebody always wanted to try it again."

Ron, you are right as always. I just recalled someone commenting on the Shrew and assumed it was that bow. I know the lil' favorite is sweet! Shawn

Here is a pic of my Shrew 54" Classic Hunter Longbow

And here is one of my Shrew 54" Lil' Favorite Recurve

Both are great bows.  Now you just have to decide if you want a longbow or recurve....or do like me and buy both!!

Tim,what differences do you find between the two,as in shooting each bow? That is my problem deciding between the two.I'm most interested with quiet which would seem to favor the longbow but my recurve Shrew is so quiet I don't know which way to go.
