Hi guys, I'm new here. I used to shoot quite a bit when I was younger but kind of lost touch with it the past 15 or so years. I came across this bow at the local flea-mart a couple weeks ago and it has been stirring something inside me ever since. I've been doing a lot of reading the past couple of weeks here also and it has brought back some great memories for me... seems time I get back to it! (On a side note I've also, since finding this bow, acquired a couple old Bears from the local classifieds. But that's for another thread).
Anyway, what lead me here in the first place is that I was curious about the make and age of the bow I found and have been trying to identify it. I've not come across another like it that I can remember. It's very simple in design, but pretty in that simplicity. I don't believe it to be anything special, or all that old, or for that matter, really worth anything... I'd just like to know what it is.
It had a water decal in the shape of a shield, but it's all but gone now. The top part of the decal was green with a gold/yellow outline and had a word that started with "G". It has a stamped serial# and hand written specs. (52#-28" custom 62")
Red inner glass and a dark brownish-black on the outside, I'm not sure on the wood type.
The finish is failing but other than that it looks to be in salvageable condition. I don't see any delamination or cracks what-so-ever.
Would be a fun project to re-finish but if nothing else, it has re-sparked my interest in traditional hunting!
Thanks in advance guys for your help, and for such a great site!
**fixed the pic size... sorry about that!**
