Coins on Shakespeare Bows

Greetings everyone,
I was just wondering how the coins on the shakepeare bows were held in place? Are they pegged in a hole in the bow simular to the bears or are they on there another way.  Also how is the best way of removeing one said coin if a sanding and refinish job were to be done?

The Shakespeare bow's I've looked are not with a coin but a circular silver sticker (about the size of a quarter) and can be peeled off.

Yep they just stick and peel...I had one that had come off and I put a small dab of Plumbers goop and stuck it back on...Very thin pc. of metal not like the Bear Madallions...

There were some that had metal medallions and I believe they are just glued on. Try heating it up to soften the glue and it may fall right off. One way to heat it up is to attach a bolt with hot melt glue to the medallion and heat the bolt up, the heat reansfer will soften the glue and you can pull it off with a pliers on the bolt. I had one with a metal medallion that fell off and there was no evidence of a peg in the center.
