Ontario Bear Outfitters
« on: December 11, 2007, 04:10:00 PM »
Anyone recommend any Ontario bear outfitters? Some of my compound buddies and I would like to begin organizing a hunt for either next fall or next spring. Is there a spring bear season in Ontario anymore? I came across some sites saying only the fall hunt is available.

We are planning on driving and would like to try and keep the drive around 12 hours, or less, from Mid Michigan.

Thanks for the help

I CAN TELL YOU WHO NOT TO USE. PONTIAC lODGE IN qUEBEC. tHERE WERE BEAR THERE, BUT TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. wE THOUGHT WE WERE SCOUTING FOR BEAR WHEN INSTEAD WE WERE DRIVING FOR THE OUTFITTER(MOOSE). hE SHOT A MOOSE COW AND HAD HIS BROTHER-IN-LAW TAG IT IN. BAD BUSINESS!

I hunted with bear paw landing last September, while I did not get a bear I would reccomend them. Fred Bear and Dick Lattimer used to hunt there and theres lots of neat tidbits from them in the cabins. Bears paw is also bowhunting only and the owner shoots a selfbow so he knows how to set up baits with stickbow hunters in mind.

No Ontario does not have a spring season anymore.  They quite having one a few years back.  I am going to Ituksum next September for my first bear hunt.  I can't wait!!

Border Country Outfitters. Was up there last Aug. 13 guys were in camp and 12 bears were shot. The 13th guy was waiting for something special. He shot one the year before. 1st class operation. I will be going back in the near future. Was the best hunt that I was ever on.
