Thanks guys. I've got a new string being made up for it and will post some shooting results once it is here and stretched in. I feel more excited about this bow than some custom new ones I've owned.

She's a looker.

Hopefully a shooter, too.

As far as custom goes - there was a lot of pride and craftsmanship that went into the production bows of the 50's and 60's; and by people who were experts at what they were doing.

A custom bowyer has a LOT on his mind and has to be craftsman, accountant, sales manager, collections agent, customer complaints center and phone answerer.  And we all know distractions hurt the product.  ;-)

TW,

That's a beauty! Hard to beat those Montereys for looks.

Here's one I had that another member has now.

Dan,

Actually, if I remember right I only told one person about it and he decided to take it. I may regret it one day but I've let some nice Howatts go in favor of Bears.

Had to check em out one more time.  I have '73 Super Diablo but I think I like the looks of the Monterey even better.  Do they shoot similat to the Hunter model?  I have a thing for the Bears too...the late 60's Super K's especially.

They are Hunters built with rosewood laminated risers and accent stripes on Hunter forms so they shoot like Hunters as far as I can determine shooting the two.
