Dual shelf, brown glass, that's 1955 or 1956.

Well....I hope you didn't pass up a fine '55 or '56 because it wasn't a '58!   There are some beautiful, great shooting bows every year from '54-64.....and some beyond that too(I'm just a believer in that decade being the highest point of Bear archery's artistry.)

Hey, Trubltrubl, do you know Rick Lepp from Cochrane?   He and Shawna, and their girls, are old friends, and I've had many of his Bow River bows.  Had a long conversation with him last week. He was/is a very good bowyer who left the craft.  One of the sad things about making bows is that not everyone who is talented can maintain the attitude and the financial success to support them through good times and bad. (I may not have said that correctly, but we've all had friends or folks we respect immensely who decided they just couldn't keep it going.  That's sad.)

Anyway, Rick is a quality guy and someone that I suspect you must know.

Yes I know Rick, I have 3 bows he made for me, a whitetailer longbow, a TD whitetailer longbow and a Summit recurve. Rick's workmanship is world class....very nice fella , have stoppped by his shop in the past just for coffee...Yes he retired from making bows unfortunately. I shot a lot of game with those bows..still chat from time to time....
